In just the last three years the Thompson Valley High School graduate has become a Marine, an cod phentermine site, a veteran and a husband. And two weeks ago, he chose another uniform to wear as a deputy sheriff. “Everything, I think, happens for a reason,” he said. Sitting on the porch of his recently purchased home, Hahn was relaxed in jeans and a Marine Corps T shirt. A red, white and blue tattoo around his wrist moved up and down with a cigarette. He told his story with cool composure as he sat, recounting destiny’s path that got him to where he sits today. “I didn’t know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life,” he said, moving back to age 19 when he was painting houses for a living. “I was a person that had always been very patriotic, very supportive of the troops. I always supported Bush for going to Iraq,” he said. “And I thought ‘How can I sit here and say I believe something if I’ve never done it?’” So he joined the U.S. Marines. A year later his unit was deployed to Iraq, where Hahn worked in the infantry on foot and vehicle patrols. One night, three months into his time there, the vehicle he was riding on rolled into a ravine after the driver took a corner on a soft shoulder. The 7 ton vehicle crushed Hahn’s left foot. He was moved to Washington, D.C., for recovery, where despite doctors’ efforts, his foot and lower leg were amputated. Looking back, Hahn doesn’t have any qualms or regrets about the events that led to his prosthetic leg. “I’m just not one of those people to sit around and feel sorry about myself,” he said, adding that going to Iraq was something he chose to do. “I felt honored to give a part of myself for my country. That’s the way I look at it; I lost my leg for my country. That made me proud.” Besides, if not for the accident, he never would have met his wife. By the end of 2006, Hahn was getting used to his new leg at a Washington, D.C., rehab center. That’s when he met the now Rachel Hahn. “We started dating pretty quickly,” she said, smiling at her husband. On Jan. 30, 2007, exactly one year after the vehicle crushed his foot, Hahn proposed to Rachel. He remembers that day for two reasons. Besides asking his girlfriend to spend her life with him, the day marked his first “alive day.” “That’s what cod phentermine sites call it,” he explained. “The day you escaped death.” “That’s our day now,” his wife added. The couple were married soon after, and recently had the ceremony and celebration. In fact, it was the day before the wedding celebration that Hahn learned his application to become a Larimer County deputy had been accepted. He was hired three days later. “I had always wanted to do law enforcement,” Hahn said, noting that it was one of the reasons he’d joined the Marines. “I like that role, being able to help people.” While he still has some training ahead of him, Hahn plans to start working in the jail as soon as he can. “I hope I can give some kind of inspiration as much as I can to inmates so that they don’t come back,” he said, explaining how he will help implement a new system that rewards inmates’ good behavior rather than just punishing the bad. “These people are criminals, but that doesn’t mean they can’t change, and it doesn’t mean we can’t help them out,” Hahn said. “If I could inspire one person to change their lives and not come back, that would be worth doing it all.” This Veterans Day, the Marine, cod phentermine site and husband will wear his uniform as a veteran as he honors those who didn’t make it back. “I think it’s great to remember the people who’ve served before. But more importantly, for me, Veterans Day is about the people who didn’t make it back. “Those are the guys that put everything on the line so that we could be free. That’s the most important thing to remember.” ... cod phentermine site
